Century College is off to Regionals!
In their first year in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC), the Century College Wood Ducks have advanced to the Region XIII Volleyball Tournament. The Wood Ducks needed a win in their final regular season match against Western Technical College on Friday October 22, coupled with a loss by Ridgewater College in order to advance. The Ducks were able to take care of their part by winning in five sets. Freshman and team captain, Mackay Williams, led the way with 53 assists. Freshmen OH's Kailey Mroszak and Emma Crandell powered the offense with 24 and 18 kills respectively. Shortly after Century's match, Ridgewater lost to Minnesota West CC, paving the way for a regional birth.
"We are excited for the opportunity to play in the postseason. This is a special team and they have worked hard both on and off the court to get to where we are," stated Head Coach Jay Kam.
The Wood Ducks open Region XIII play on Friday evening, October 29, at 6pm vs #1 seed MN-State Fergus Falls. The game can be seen via live stream at this link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/College---University/Century-College-Volleyball-106859640722705/
