Volleyball team adds 3 more to 2023 class
Jay Kam has added 3 more recruits to his 2022-2023 class. Gabrielle Schwirtz, a setter from Plato, Minnesota, is an athletic setter with great hands and high volleyball IQ. Head Coach Jay Kam is excited to add Gabrielle to the 2023 squad. "Gabi is a great addition to the incoming class. I love to have competition at every position and especially at setter. Cassidy Gilliam (Stillwater) and Gabi will be fantastic teammates and the two of them will support and challenge each other every day."
Autumn Allen is a right side hitter from Chatfield, Minnesota. Autumn is one of the first players Coach Kam reached out to in the 2023 class. "We are always looking for athletes and she has an impressive vertical and is good defensively. This will be another position where there will be some fierce competition," stated Coach Kam.
Jamie Ihfe is from Forest Lake, Minnesota, and has played club for Lakes, Northern Lights, and Kokoro. Jamie attended Bemidji State during the 2021-22 year but has decided to continue her volleyball career with the Wood Ducks. Coach Kam is grateful to have an extremely versatile athlete on the team. "Jamie will be a valuable member of the team. If we want to compete nationally, we need players from the top clubs in the state. Every player has a different journey and I'm thankful that Century is going to be part of Jamie's."
"With the addition of the incoming players to the returning players from last fall, the team is starting to take shape. I expect big things from this class. I hope we build on the success from last fall and continue to build something special here at Century. I am excited for the players that have already committed for the upcoming year, but I am also happy for the returning players from last season as their play and success has made Century a destination worth considering. I'm excited to be a part of the process and hope to continue the momentum as we reach for our goals." – Coach Jay Kam
