Mike Alexander hired as New Head Volleyball Coach
Mike Alexander was named Head Volleyball Coach on July 1, 2025. Coach Alexander was was born and raised in Southern California, where he played 4 years of volleyball at the University of San Diego High School. Alexander moved to St Paul, Minnesota in 2006 to attend the University of St Thomas where he received a degree in Social Work and played the first two seasons of the University of St Thomas Men's Club Volleyball Team.
Alexander has been coaching volleyball for13 years. For the past seven years he has been a head coach for Kokoro Volleyball Club as well as assisted in running their summer camps and Monday Night Skills Training. He also did one year as an associate club director for Kokoro Eau Claire during the 2023-24 club season. From 2017-2021 Alexander was the Varsity Head Volleyball Coach at White Bear Lake High School.
Coach Alexander prides himself on his ability to connect with his players and creating a culture where goal setting and pushing to be the best version of yourself are standard. "Each team I have had the opportunity to coach has had their own unique identity," stated Alexander, "but every team that I have led knew that they would be pushed to give 100% of what they had in each moment and learned to enjoy the process together. I intend to bring this same mentality to Century College and I am excited for the opportunity to take the torch and continue building on the incredible success the Woodducks have experienced in recent years."
Coach Alexander is the 2nd Head Coach in the Volleyball program's short, but successful history. Century College is coming off a 4th Place finish at the NJCAA III National Tournament in 2024.
