The Wood Ducks Head into MCAC Divisional Play on a Roll
Century has won 8 of there last 10. The Wood Ducks will open up MCAC South Divisional play on Friday & Saturday versus Western Technical College. They head down to La Crosse on Friday for a 1pm DH and then "home" to Baldwin, WI on Saturday at 1pm. The Woodies will head to Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday and then home vs Hamline at Century Field starting at 2:30. Below are the recaps from the previous 10 games.
DCTC 8 – Wood Ducks 5
The Wood Ducks lost the lead late in an 8-5 defeat to DCTC. The game was tied at five with the Blue Knights batting in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run for DCTC. Century College Wood Ducks put up three runs in the fourth inning. Grant Proctor and Zach Bruns each drove in runs during the inning. Leo Fleischhacker took the loss, he lasts one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out three. Kaden Pfeffer started the game for Century College. The southpaw surrendered three runs, one earned on four hits over five innings, striking out five. Proctor went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Century College Wood Ducks in hits. Chris Brey led Century with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with four stolen bases.
DCTC 2 – Wood Ducks 0
Both teams were strong on the hill on Monday, but DCTC got the victory over the Century Ducks. Ty Valiton started the game for the Ducks and recorded 18 outs. Valiton took the loss for Century College Wood Ducks. The righty went six innings, allowing two unearned runs on five hits and striking out five. Xander Paar went 2-for-2 at the plate.
Wood Ducks 5 Gustavus Adolphus 2
Century College Wood Ducks snagged a late lead and defeated Gustavus Adolphus Gusties 5-2 on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Century College Wood Ducks batting in the top of the sixth when Bryce Campbell singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Jack Vlasaty was the winning pitcher for Century, he allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and walking zero. Jake Schmidt and Cole Bakkum entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Century totaled nine hits in the game. Nick Ibrahim, Dom Vogel, and Campbell each had multiple hits for the Ducks. Campbell, Vogel, and Ibrahim all had two hits to lead Century College

The Ducks scores more runs than Gustavus Adolphus Gusties Baseball, takes victory on Thursday to the tune of 8-4. Jack Carlson earned the win for Century. Carlson surrendered two runs on six hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Wes Nelson threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Century racked up eight hits. Zach Bruns and Paar each collected multiple hits for the Wood Ducks. Bruns went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead.
Wood Ducks 10 Minnesota North College-Hibbing 0
Kaden Pfeffer shut down MNC-Hibbing, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Wood Ducks to a 10-0 victory on Saturday. Porter Jorgenson led the Wood Ducks to victory by driving in four runs. Jorgenson went 2-for-2 at the plate. The Woodies notched four runs in the fifth inning. Noah Drusch, Jorgenson, and Nate Costa all drove in runs in the frame. Pfeffer earned the victory, the lefthander surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out 11 and walking zero. Century tallied 12 hits on the day. Jorgenson, Nick Ibrahim, Zach Bruns, and Drusch each collected multiple hits for Century.

The Wood Ducks defeated MNC-Hibbing 7-0 on Saturday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Cole Bakkum struck out Jorge Chagerben to finish off the game. Ducks put up three runs in the fifth inning. Nick Ibrahim and Noah Drusch powered the big inning with RBIs. Century racked up five hits. Brock Larsen and Ibrahim each racked up multiple hits. Ty Valiton was credited with the victory surrendering zero runs on four hits over five innings, striking out five and walking zero. Bakkum and Charlie Atkinson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Century defeated MPG 2-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Leo Fleischhacker struck out Drew Evans to finish off the game. Ducks got things started in the second inning. Bryce Campbell hit into a fielder's choice, scoring two runs. The pitching was strong on both sides. Ducks pitchers struck out 11,Dylan Immel led things off on the mound for the Wood Ducks. Immel lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.
