Ducks Split with Alexandria Tech and add a Double Header vs MNC-Itasca
The Wood Ducks earned a split with Alexandria Tech on Friday afternoon at Century Field. Both teams are currently recieving votes in the national NJCAA rankings. The Ducks also added a double header on Tuesday vs Minnesota North College - Itasca, first pitch scheduled for 1 pm.

The Duck's effort to come back from down six runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 9-8 to Alexandria Tech on Saturday. Despite the loss, the Wood Ducks did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Alexandria Tech had 12 hits on the way to victory. Century got on the board in the first inning after Seth Nelson hit a two-run homer to left field. Jaden Drill homered to right field, which helped Alexandria Tech tie the game at two in the top of the third. A walk by Porter Jorgenson gave the Wood Ducks the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third. Alexandria tech added on 7 runs in the 4th an 5th innings. Century College Wood Ducks made the score 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Adrian Warcken hit a solo home run to center field, and a Jack Huberty double. The wood ducks stranded men on second and third to end the game. Lucas Burgum earned the win for Alexandria Tech. The righty surrendered five hits and five runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 10 and walking four. Brandon Hugo took the loss. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, surrendering five runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. Mason McGowan threw two scoreless innings in relief with four strikeouts. Dom Vogel led Century with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Cole Bakkum and Nelson each drove in two runs. Warcken collected two hits for Century.

It came down to the wire on Friday afternoon, as the Wood Ducks grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 4-3, over Alexandria Tech. Century was down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Seth Tierney homered to right field, scoring two runs. Alexandria Tech opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two home runs. The Ducks tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by Tierney, and a double by Adrian Warcken. Alexandria Tech took the lead in the top of the sixth. Jaden Drill singled, scoring one run, to give Alexandria Tech the leg up, 3-2. Cole Bakkum earned the win in relief, working one scoreless inning. Drill took the loss for Alexandria Tech. The right-handed pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering two runs on two hits, striking out two and walking none. Seth Luther stepped on the hill first for the Wood Ducks. He surrendered six hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking none. Kai Mayfield opened the game for Alexandria Tech. The southpaw surrendered five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking four. Century piled up nine hits in the game. Tierney drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Ducks with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Tierney, Warcken, and Dom Vogel each collected two hits. Vogel stole three bases. The Wood Ducks collected five stolen bases for the game.
