#15th Ranked Wood Ducks Continue Winning Ways
The nationally ranked (#15 NJCAA & #11 JBB) Wood Ducks (continue their winning ways by winning their first divisional series vs Minnesota West and Western Tech. They won both series 3-1 and are currently 6-2 in the MCAC South Division. The Ducks also defeated Gustavus Adolphus and a double header sweep with Bethany Lutheran College. They split with nationally ranked St. Cloud Tech when they both traveled to Decorah Iowa for a doubleheader. In their latest mid-week they earned a split with University of Northwestern.
Wood Ducks 5 Gustavus Adolphus College JV 3
The Wood Ducks were triumphant over Gustavus Adolphus College 5-3. Gustavus opened the scoring in the first after Isaiah Hasz hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs. Seth Nelson doubled, which helped Century tie the game at two in the top of the fourth. Gustavus took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth. The Wood Ducks made the score 5-3 in the top of the ninth after Porter Jorgenson singled, scoring two runs, and Joe Hansen added a double. Joey Koch earned the win for the Ducks. He gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking none. Kirill Landry started on the hill for Century College Wood Ducks. St. Cloud Tech 6 Wood Ducks 4
An extra innings walk-off left the Wood Ducks on the wrong end of a 6-4 defeat to SCTCC Cyclones. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the ninth when Alejandro Diaz homered to center field. Century got on the board in the second inning after Seth Tierney hit a solo home run to left field. The Cyclones captured the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the second when Elian Mezquita singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and an error scored one run. The Wood Ducks tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a two run single by Joe Hansen, and a ground out by Dom Vogel. Wes Nelson pitched four and two-thirds innings in relief for the Wood Ducks. The reliever gave up three hits and zero runs while, striking out two and walking none. Cole Bakkum took the loss for Century College Wood Ducks. The reliever went two innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one. The Wood Ducks took game two in dramatic fashion, with a 6-5 walk-off bomb victory over SCTCC Cyclones. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the eighth when Porter Jorgenson hit a solo home run to right field. SCTCC were the first to get on the board in the first when Samuel Holthaus homered to right field, scoring two runs. The Century Ducks captured the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the third after Seth Tierney walked, Adrian Warcken hit into a fielder's choice, and SCTCC Cyclones committed an error, each scoring one run. Kinnick Christiensen hit a sacrifice fly, which helped SCTCC Cyclones tie the game at four in the top of the fifth. SCTCC took the lead in the top of the sixth. Century responded with a run in the sixth off a Joe Hansen single. Mason McGowan earned the win for Century College Wood Ducks. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Seth Luther, the starting pitcher gave up seven hits and five runs over six innings, striking out four and walking three. Winky Estrada, Jorgenson, Warcken, and Hansen each drove in one run.

Century College Wood Ducks won big over Bethany Lutheran College 8-2. Bethany Lutheran College opened the scoring in the first after Trent Ash was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. The Wood Ducks took the lead in the top of the second. Caden Besemer homered to left field, scoring two runs, to give the Wood Ducks the edge, 2-1.A sacrifice fly by Dom Vogel, and a double by Joe Hansen helped Century extend their early lead in the third. Seth Tierney drove in four runs on four hits to lead Century College Wood Ducks past Bethany Lutheran College 12-9 in game two. Tierney hit a home run to right field in the fourth scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and singled in the second scoring one. Bats blistered as the Wood Ducks collected 14 hits. The Wood Ducks were the first to get on the board in the first when Tierney singled, scoring one run. Century added three more runs in the top of the second inning on three hits. Western Tech jumped into the lead in the top of the fourth when Jimmy Siggens singled, scoring two, and Wes Nelson induced Pablo Soto to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Century scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Seth Tierney on the eighth pitch of the at-bat. Century collected nine hits in the game. Joe Hansen and Nelson each collected two hits.
