Adrian Warcken drove in four runs on three hits to lead Century past Itasca CC 12-1 in their first game of the Region XIII Bracket A playoffs. Warcken singled in the second inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the third inning, scoring two. The Wood Ducks jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Kole Paulsen induced Cole Bakkum to hit into a fielder's choice, but a run scored, Warcken singled, scoring two, and Dom Vogel doubled, scoring two. A single by Joe Hansen, a double by Jack Huberty, and a double by Warcken helped the Wood Ducks extend their early lead in the third. Brandon Hugo earned the win for Century. It came down to the wire on Friday, as Century grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 10-9, over Alexandria Tech. The game was tied at nine in the bottom of the ninth when Joe Hansen hit a sacrifice fly, scored pinch runner Riley Denning. The inning started with the Wood Ducks trailing 5-9. Winky Estrada singled, Adrian Warcken walked, Dom Vogel doubled to score Estrada. Then Seth Tierney hit a 3-run homer to centerfield to tie the game. Seth Nelson singled and was replaced by Denning, Porter Jorgenson singled advancing Denning to third, leading to Hansen's game winning sac fly. Estrada hit two home runs in the victory. Wood Ducks got on the board in the first inning after Estrada hit a solo home run to left field. Estrada homered to right field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth for Century giving them a 5-1 lead. The Wood Ducks piled up 15 hits in the game. Estrada, Nelson, and Tierney each collected three hits. Hansen and Vogel each collected multiple hits. Reliever, Kirill Landry earned the win for the ducks with one pitch.
