9th Ranked Wood Ducks Start Season at OWT in Rockford, IL
SEASON OPENING WEEKEND
The Wood Ducks will begin the season on the road in Rockford, IL at the All In Volleyball Opening Weekend Tournament. They will play two matches on Friday August 22nd and two matches on Saturday August 23rd. Friday they play Southwestern Illinois College at 3:15pm and UW-Whitewater at Rock County at 5:15pm. Saturday they play Joliet Junior College at 10:00 am and finish the tournament with NJCAA ranked #3 College of DuPage at 12:00 p.m.

The Wood Ducks are currently ranked 9th in the NJCAA National Rankings.
MCAC PRESEASON COACHES POLLS
The Wood Ducks were voted to take 3rd in the MCAC South Division. Top four teams for each division will qualify for the Region XIII Tournament (A or B)
ALEXANDER TAKES OVER
Mike Alexander was named head coach on July 10th, 2025 and became the 2nd head coach in program history. Mike comes from White Bear Lake High School where he coached the varsity team and ran the program from 2017-2022. Throughout those years and to date Mike also was a head coach for Kokoro volleyball club. Mike brings years of coaching experience and a passion for the sport of volleyball.
COACHING STAFF
Mike Alexander is joined by his assistant coach Angie Peterson. Mike and Angie have had the opportunity to coach alongside each other for Kokoro volleyball club. Angie brings a wealth of knowledge about the sport of volleyball and a passion for bringing out the best in each player on her teams.

DIVISIONAL PLAY
The Woodies play home and away matches versus all the MCAC South Division opponents. The south division is comprised of Anoka-Ramsey CC, Century College, M State-Fergus Falls, Minnesota West CTC, Ridgewater College, Riverland CC, Rochester CTC, St. Cloud Technical CC, and Western Tech. The top 4 teams from the division will advance to the Region Championship tournaments.
REGION TOURNAMENT AND NATIONAL TOURNAMENT
Region XIII playoffs will be divided into two 4-team tournaments. The top four teams from each MCAC division will play for Region XIII A and Region XIII B Championships. The winner of both will automatically qualify for the National tournament in Cedar Rapids, IA taking place November 13th – 15th.
